Description

"The statue stands facing down Westminster street. and in its pose is naturalness itself. There is a notable absence of anything strained in the position. One hand rests lightly on the hip and holds a partially rolled parchment. One foot is slightly advanced and the head is turned just enough to relieve the whole from any sharp lines." Honor to the Dead, Boston Globe, June 4 1889. The statue now sits atop a square concrete pillar. The text is made of bronze and is placed onto the pillar's front.
